LOFA – SECOND PROJECT LOCATION Lofa County was the epicenter of the 2014 Ebola Crisis. Currently, the community is providing care for 20 of the children who became orphaned as a result of the crisis. The nearest medical care facilities and schools are several hours away, leaving the community in need of educational and healthcare systems. While the Board Chair of COT was visiting the area in 2019, he determined the model used in Bopolu would be beneficial to the people of Lofa, as well. At the moment, Changing our Tomorrows is fundraising to build an elementary school for an estimated 200 students. Once the school has been completed, COT will evaluate next steps to continue to help the community.
